new belt and primary ?
This g16 I picked up is pretty slow. Looked at the belt and it looks way too long and loose. It hangs so far down that it actually hits the frame before you give it gas. Also noticed I can move the primary in and out 1/2". Is it supposed to do that? I know the stock belt is 1 3/16 wide, is there a direct replacement or one from an atv thats a little wider for performance? I know plowmans has one is there any others?

Re: new belt and primary ?
I paid $40 for my double cogged Kevlar belt off eBay for my g9. The stock size for my cart is 1 3/16's wide by 39 inches long. Find your stock size and take a look at eBay. I paid roughly a little over 1/2 price than other places for mine.

Re: new belt and primary ?
Did some searching and found the prohauler came with a 1 1/4 x 39 1/4" belt. Wouldnt that fit fine? Also found one that 39 3/4" long thats only $27. Would that work?

Re: new belt and primary ?
You don't want a longer belt,a shorter is usually done, wider will change gearing slightly,as it will ride higher up in the secondary-clutch.As far as I know, most of the older Yamis'(G16 and down, maybe some newer, and a few special models)use the same belt.
