Short when hooking neg to bat post
I have a 2003 CC IQ the owner tried to put a speed sensor in motor and messed something up have checked sol ok batts check ok motor checks ok.Cart will not run solenoide does click,problem i am having when hooking batteries back up positve first neg last did 3 times ea time when hooking i gat a one time bad spark from neg.

I fried a controller once, when I hooked the negative cable it would spark/arc bad. The controller was already fried. It sounds like something is grounded out, be careful. Hopefully some of the pro's will comment.

You can also use a 60w incandescent light bulb (240 ohm resistance), in series with the cable if you do not have a resistor handy. I have noticed the spark is usually due to the voltage converter capacitors charging as the controller capacitors already charge thru the pre-charge resistor (reduced current).

It does have a tow run switch also the solenoide does not have a reistor hooked between the line cables if i installed one would it be same as hooking one up as someone said above

make sure to put it in tow when disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries. some carts will arc on run while others wont and even in tow i've seen small arcs before.
