Default New to carts….just bought a 2020 Club Onward and need help please

The thing is like brand new but I’m guessing the batteries were neglected…After what seems to be a full charge the cart run amazing then after a very short time (maybe 10 minutes) the cart pauses/jerks at full throttle from a start….after a short run time the yellow battery starts blinking yet the battery level indicator shows a full charge….When I plug in the charger the charger shows 3/4 charge.
Are my batteries junk?
Is now the time to consider an upgrade to lithium?

Thanks in advance

First of all, is the cart still on warranty?

I’m not sure and either is the original owner from whom I bought it. He said he gave me all the paperwork he had on it and I can’t find anything about warranty. Is there a standard transferrable warranty that comes with the cart?

Batteries are probably not on warranty anyway. Get a multimeter and measure all of your batteries right after charge and then under load when driving. You are probably right to suspect bad batteries.

Silly questions….should I disconnect the batteries from one another for testing to assure I’m testing them individually? Also….what method should I use to test while driving/under load?

You do not have to disconnect anything. You can measure a battery at a time with your DVM.

Another silly question….aren’t the batteries wired in series?
How do I isolate them for testing without taking them out of the series?

They are wired in series. But you can measure them individually with your meter even when they are still connected. Just put one probe on the + and one on the - terminal of each battery. You would get exactly the same results if you disconnected them. (I'm an EE so I'm not blowing smoke)
