Steering parts.. steer me in the right direction please
I’m am going to need steering parts for my 2014 precedent iq2 w/6in lift..
Is there a difference in quality between the different venders? Are there heavy duty replacement parts or just the standard stock parts? Tie rod ends, rack n pinion, lower steering yoke. I see parts on Amazon.. eBay etc.. 10L10L brand.. couple other brands that look the same to me.. 60- 260.00?? Can someone steer me in the right direction..don’t want to pay more for the same part I can get somewhere else cheaper but don’t want a bad quality part. Thanks! |

Kinda depends on exactly what you need, but generally there is a very big difference in quality between the chinese knock-off stuff on the jungle store, vs original quality parts from a dealer.
With the 6" lift if you need parts that are at the wheel end or bushings for the suspension then those will only be found in the aftermarket, or may only come from the original supplier of the lift. From what I've seen most lifts will use the stock sized suspension bushings, but they will be low quality versions that don't last, or have very poor tolerance (loose/ sloppy fit from the start) |

Also bear in mind, the OEM parts are designed to bend and break under impact to prevent damage to the rest of the cart and occupants. Copy parts are an unknown quantity in this scenario. I would only use genuine parts where possible.

I’ve used the cheap Amazon ones and experienced no issues.
I don’t know that they will last 20+ years like an OEM part would, but I ran an aftermarket steering rack, with tie rod ends on a carryall that got used very hard, with 6” lift and 25” tires for 2 or 3 years and never had an issue. |

Yeah.....but here's one of CP241's "fixes" after he was all done!! But in all fairness, he said he loves to watch NASCAR....but prefers to only steer to the right instead of left.

Right arm! Thanks for the replies..
Another question.. are all after market parts equal in quality? From the same factory then branded under another name? I’ve seen a few different sellers and most of the steering boxes look identical.. I have seen a couple with black pained tie rods instead of metal look. And the center indented nut metal color and brass color .. |
