I think the black wires are common so tie them together. So both black to the neg of the pack, white to the + of the pack and red to the + second or third battery in the back row.

My eBay ammeter required an isolated power supply, so I bought a cheap DC to DC isolated power supply chip. Mine needed a larger load than my meter did, so I added a burden resistor.
