Default 2011 rxv braking issues

my 2011 rxv, is having some braking issues. i had a bad battery that when it went bad it caused the brake to lock up. so i replaced them and now all batteries after a full charge then sitting, are at 12.63-12.69.

when accelerating cart performs normally, but once i start to decelerate the brake activates and i slam to a halt. im getting a burning smell that i cant pinpoint where its coming from and the motor brake is hot to touch just after driving 200ft.

thanks in advance

I know that smell, and its a bad one. I can taste it now. Its most likely coming from the parking brake being stuck or going bad. Seems to be a known problem with RXV.

Hey thanks hoping that's not the case, but I'm leaning towards that

That would leave no way to prevent vehicle rolling away when parked, zero hope of stopping in the event of a system failure while driving, or a dead battery. Not a smart idea. Also, most rxv software versions wont allow the car to drive if the park brake fails a "twist-test" when the key is turned on.

I knew it wasn't the smartest but wanted to bypass it and that would be a rule out for it

Well, you could try taking it off the motor & laying it in the bag-well "plugged in". But, like i said, most software versions wont let the cart drive if it fails the "twist-test". Twist-test = try to turn the motor 1/4 turn while the motor brake is locked, if the motor turns, it failed the test, the cart will "jerk" pretty hard during the test if the brake is not on the motor.
