Default Microswitch in Pedal box keeps blowing

I have a 1998 EZGO series cart that the solenoid does not click and the cart does not move. I checked all connections, cleaned everything replaced the solenoid Went to the Pedal box and the micro switch was bad, as soon as i replaced the switch it blew. Do have any ideas what would cause that? I need some help. Thanks

One possibility, solenoid diode bad or reversed.

Surely a short in the solenoid primary circuit. Could be the diode.

I have checked all of the wiring, all looks good, this cart has a different controller on it. It is a Alltrax and the number on it is NPX 4844ez which everything I read says that it is a 48 volt. It has the bigger battery cables on it and it has a new 36 volt solenoid. When I try to jump the solenoid to see if will click it just sparks. It has a new key switch on it and it still is blowing the pedal micro switch. It is the red wire that sparks on the micro switch when it blows. When I put the multi meter on the solenoid, one side shows 36.5 and 34.5 on the other. I am getting power to the F&R switch but looks like black ground wire from the solenoid has been removed. I need some help, thanks
