Do I NEED an MCOR upgrade?
I recently upgraded my stock controller, battery cables, and solenoid. I'm just now starting to see the various posts about upgrading the MCOR, which has me wondering... Is the MCOR something you upgrade to address an issue when one is present, or is it something you upgrade to give better performance?
I have slight jitters when easing off or pressing the the pedal slowly, but it's nothing bad. I still have my stock motor and plan to do a motor upgrade in the near future. I'm wondering if I just need to factor an MCOR upgrade into my costs for upgrading the motor, or is the stock MCOR typically sufficient. ** Current setup is: Club Car DS (AQ11) with Alltrax XCT 500, 2g cables, HD solenoid, and stock motor. |

Re: Do I NEED an MCOR upgrade?
The MCOR4 conversion kit is not an upgrade, it's a repair item. The MCOR1 found on your cart is no longer in production. That's the reason a conversion is necessary. The jitters in your throttle range can almost certainly be because of a bad MCOR. The problem is only going to get worse from this point forward. The MCOR4 conversion kit for a Club Car DS with a pre-existing MCOR is part number AM293101. It contains all of the necessary brackets, adapters, hardware, a set of factory instructions, and a new MCOR4.

Re: Do I NEED an MCOR upgrade?
Yeah, that's what I couldn't figure out from reading the other posts on the MCOR - if it was an upgrade or a fix. Thanks for the fast response and info!
