Mixed aged battery replacement position?
Okay, here's the story. I bought a cart to flip. 2011 CC Precedent.
The batteries are 8 volt and 3 were dated March 2014 and the other 3 were dated August 2014. It appears that the previous owner had changed the batteries with two different sets, possibly at different times. I don't know the history. After MUCH work I determined that the March 2014 batteries will not hold a charge, and only will charge up to about 60-70%. The August 2014 batteries are in excellent condition. The person buying the cart from me is agreeable to having 3 new batteries, along with the 3 old batteries since the deal is too good to pass up. The question is: What position should I put the old and new batteries? Half on one side, half on the other? Mix them up? Does it matter? Thank you! |

Makes no difference where you put them. They are all in series. The new ones will soon be only as good as the old ones.

shame to put only 3 new in with 3 old . maybe get with the buyer to put in 3 new at the same time (cause the deal was so good) and he starts off with a new pack for half price.

Agree 100 % I'd not mix new with batteries of questionable 2 year history. Better to perhaps find 3 used battery if price is major concern.
