You might have a motor problem. with the cart jacked up have somebody try to go, with the gas pedal depressed and the cart not going as it should, try spinning the wheel by hand to see if it gets going.

It's gone twice now without spinning the wheel by hand but always goes back to the stutter. I spin the wheel and still get the same thing. With wheels on the ground it won't move in reverse but it does with wheels off. About to see if the wheels move when I push it in a ditch. Do I replace controller? Can I test the motor?

Have you tested the battery pack under load?
Put the test meter on the pack - tell us the standing voltage.
Then try to go and watch the meter, does the reading fall? What's the reading when you try to go?

This is the number 1 reason carts won't go. Once you establish the pack is good (connected correctly) you can test the motor as shown below. Something as simple as a bad cable end or bad F&R switch can stop the cart from running.

Update. Finally got to spend some time with the cart. Battery pack reads 38. Replaced all wires with 4 ga.

With wheels off the ground, cart runs like crazy in forward and runs like kinda crazy in reverse. Driver side wheel runs real good all the time and passenger kinda drags.

Wheels on the ground it won't move. Still tries to run but won't.

At this point, I'm thinking motor shaft? I have an extra motor for a series cart. Thinking of trying it and seeing what happens? Does that seem like my next step?

By the way, pack voltage is 38 and drops to 35 with pedal depressed.

What does the pack drop to when the wheels are on the ground, and you try to go but the cart can't move..... right then with the gas to the floor and the cart not moving... what is the pack voltage.

I'll bet $ you got one or more bad batteries.

Checked again this morning. Pack voltage was 37.4, with pedal depressed and wheels on the ground it went to 34.

This is the second set of batteries. First set was tried and true 2014s. They are now in my buddies cart working well. To eliminate the battery possibility I put in a brand new set and charged them fully.

I'm stumped

Me too. But I'm at a disadvantage without seeing the cart. Try a fresh F&R
We have a nice heavy duty model - heavier duty than everybody else.

Already replaced F&R. I'm thinking I'll try a different motor, since I have one, and see what that gets me. Don't know what else to do. I'm thinking controller must be OK or it wouldn't work on jacks. Message must be getting to where it's supposed to go.
