Because of the dirty contacts in the MCOR, this is usually a temporary fix. It does explain it better in the MCOR post at the top of the page.

I don't understand how you have a warranty on a 5 year old cart. It's obviously not a factory warranty. Is the warranty provided by whoever you bought the cart from?

Yes, the seller of the cart gave a 6 month warranty on the cart and 1 year on the batteries. Thanks for the help guys!

Under warranty, let them deal with it. Tell them to scan it, and it will be obvious if the MCOR is the issue. I had to scan one for a customer, then told them to go to club car and have them change it under warranty, as they were unable to find the problem.

I'm going to have to dispute the dirty contacts theory. I've had my MCOR apart and cleaned the inside so that there couldn't possibly be any dirt inside. Put it back together and within a few hours the problem starts again. So I started thinking what could cause this problem and what was a solution. I came upon the idea that the 20-50 pumps on the throttle was causing friction which causes heat which causes expansion. With the little extra expansion the fingers inside the MCOR make a little better contact. This would explain why the fix only lasts a little while before you got to do it again. The last time I had my MCOR open I bent the fingers up a little for better contact and it's been over 3 weeks and no more problems.

Just wanted to give an update. These guys fed me every excuse in the book for why there was nothing wrong with my cart. With your tips, I knew they weren't right so I wasn't hearing any of their stories. Just imagine the scene: they would ride it with me, and with the cart jerking back and forth, they'd look at me with a straight face and say "yes, this is normal." I kept at them, and they finally gave in and replaced the mcor. It runs perfectly now! Thanks for the help guys!

where I'm at, this is a normal for most shops. 10 dollar an hour non golf cart mechanic working on your cart.

I think it's like that everywhere. I've been in the business for 15 years and I probably only know about 3 good cart mechanics.
