Anyone know specs for motor AMD DL9-4006?
Hello,
I am new to the forum and there is a lot of great info here. I am trying to figure out the RPM rating for my motor but cannot find any info on the web. The Motor is a AMD DL9-4006. It also lists a part number of 612624. Its the stock motor in a 2012 TXT 48v. I just purchased an Alltrax XCT 500 from Scottyb so I was just wondering what RPM setting to put in the programming. |

Pretty sure thats just the stock motor, so its likely rated around 4500.

Re: Anyone know specs for motor AMD DL9-4006?
If you set the max RPM at 4500, you will limit your cart to a top speed of 19.4 MPH on stock height (18") tires.
Your stock TXT-48 motor maxes out at about 5600 RPM with a 48V battery pack, which is 24.1 MPH. The XCT is typically set to 6000RPM for a stock motor, which allows the cart to reach about 26 MPH going downhill. Different height tires will produce different speeds than what is listed above and if the cart is too fast for your liking (IE: Kids driving cart at times), you can RPM limit the motor down to an acceptable speed. |

Re: Anyone know specs for motor AMD DL9-4006?
Great information Johnnieb. The cart is a refurb that I bought here in Houston. It has a lift kit and 23x10.5x12" tires and wheels. I believe Scotty is setting the limit in the controller but I just wanted to know in case I want to tweek the settings myself. So my understanding is that I can set the RPM limit to 5600 and be safe in not smoking my motor? Thanks for the information.

Re: Anyone know specs for motor AMD DL9-4006?
With 18" tall; tires a stock TXT-48 will reach about 5600RPM with a 48V battery pack, but with 23" tires you lose about 22% of the motor's torque throughout the RPM spectrum, so it won't reach 5600 RPM, unless going downhill.
Going from a stock TXT-48 controller (250A) to a 500A XCT will more or less double the amount of torque you can get from the motor, so the net torque gain for your setup is about 28%, but the increase is mostly on the low end. In and of themselves, RPM won't burn out your motor, but amps will and you have the potential of hitting your stock motor with more amps than it is designed to handle, so it would probably be a good idea to turn down the max motor amps to about 400A. |

Re: Anyone know specs for motor AMD DL9-4006?
Well here it is. I installed the Alltrax XCT 48500 and 2 gauge cables yesterday. Before the upgrade I got a top speed of 21-22 and poor torque with my Curtis 1206HB. The Curtis did have the freedom mode passkey programmed in.
The torque increase is incredible and I'm still playing with the settings to get it just right. Very jumpy off of the line. I was getting about 23-24 mph on the speed with the XCT until today. I had contacted Plum Quick to inquire on a Bandit upgrade and Rick told me to make sure I inflated the tires to 25-30 psi, in order to take any strain off of the motor. My tires had less than 10 psi so I inflated them to 25 (max on tire is 20). I am not hitting 27mph. I have the amps set at 400 to match my stock motor. Thanks to ScottyB for the great price and insight into my upgrade, and to JohnnieB for the data. Any suggestions on programming would be awesome if anyone has anything to suggest. |
