Medalist Input Shaft Question
My Medalist is a bit dated and the rear end was starting to clunk, so changed out the gears for new high speed ones. Unfortunately I didn't replace the input shaft and there is still a bit of a clunk. It was a bear to take everything apart and don't want to do it again...
I saw an earlier post that stated you can take out the input shaft from the top without ripping everything apart. Anyone know if that is correct? |

Re: Medalist Input Shaft Question
Once the motor is out, remove the C clip and pull the shaft out. Its that easy.
However, to do the job right, change the coupler on the end of the motor at the same time. |

Re: Medalist Input Shaft Question
Cart Guy, thanks for making my day. I really didn't want to do a full disassembly again.
I assume the coupler is what connects the motor to the input shaft? |

Re: Medalist Input Shaft Question
@rib33024, thanks for that link, that is a huge help. That is what I was hoping for, glad it is way easier than going back through the gear case again. Tomorrow is new input shaft order day:)

Re: Medalist Input Shaft Question
Thanks for all the help, that was as easy as everyone stated. The only trick was pulling out the input shaft because you can't really grab it. My trick was to lock some vice grips onto the shaft (since its being replaced anyways) and a little prying with a screwdriver and done.
