Help with my new/old cart...
Long story short, I sold this cart roughly two years ago. I recently had the opportunity to buy it back, and I did. The guy I sold it to added the light bar but there is no switch to turn it on and he also added something by the batteries. I'm thinking a voltage reducer or converter or something, also has pos and neg wire coming out of it but not hooked to any battery. Wanted to see if anyone knew what it is and help me get this light bar going. Here are some pics...

Help with my new/old cart...
So that thing in the picture has nothing to do with the light bar? It does have a 12v battery under the seat but has no wires running to it. Like I said, there is no switch to even turn the lights on even if I can find the where the wire runs to.

Re: Help with my new/old cart...
I have exactly the same LED bar mounted. That bar comes with a rocking switch cable and relay.
Follow the cable from the bar and see where it ends. If you are lucky is just under the dash if not they probably cut it off at some point and you will have to run it again to the 12v battery and install a switch with a relay. Please use a relay because that bar uses quite a few amps and will fry a regular switch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Re: Help with my new/old cart...
New batteries have been installed. Would there be a need for me to hook that thing up? If not, is it worth anything to sell used?
Thanks for the info on the light bar. I'll try to trace the wires tomorrow. Does Walmart sell just a relay and switch I could buy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have an idea.....why don't you ask the guy that you bought it back from? I bet he knows exactly what he did, instead of you and us guessing.

The guy I sold it to died about 6 months ago. I bought the cart back from his daughter. She has no idea what all he did to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Help with my new/old cart...
Look up the gold battery desulphate on ebay check out the sticker on the side they are built for a specific voltage 12-24-36-48 then you can get a idea on the value.
You can get a heavy duty 15amp switch at autozone that will work fine for that light bar, no need for a relay unless you want to use a tiny little switch . |
