Depending on the cart and the Access Level, some might have a 'Program' menu that allows you to enable freedom mode (with a special pass key) and edit speed profiles. This menu seems absent on Club Car for some reason, we often get 18MPH speed out of swapping the motor magnet for a high speed magnet.

But for most intents and purposes, the 1311 is a diagnostic tool more than a 'programmer' unless you're working on Curtis RXVs and TXT 48Vs

More specifically...the 1311/1313 handhelds available for sale with FSIP are more of a diagnostic tool than a programmer. The access levels of those are only dealer level. The full part number should include a -3301. A majority of the controllers Curtis puts out have the 'good' settings as OEM level or higher. So to make any significant changes you would need a -4401 handheld (OEM) these are a bit harder to come by but I've seen a few on ebay. What many call a "Clubcar Handset" will also work as its the same thing as an 1311/1313-4401.

There are many access levels...

1101 = User
2201 = Service
3301 = Dealer
4401 = OEM
5501 = Factory
6601 = Developer

The 4401 is the highest level you are likely to find, can buy it on eBay. Or maybe have your 3301 reflashed to a 4401. Some of the handset sellers on eBay have that ability. It's just a software upgrade with a twist.

Thanks for someone finely answering the actual post. I have the $500 unit from FSIP and extremely unhappy for the way I feel I've been deceived. There is no reason it should be called a programmer if -0- programming and be done. It's simply a diagnostic tool. Don't get me wrong I use it all the time, to trouble shoot and clear codes but I've yet to have any controller. I cant change any programming fretures at all. I understand that I won't be able to get into EZGO or Clubcar controllers but I can't even get into a generic/ universal Curtis controller. I haven't even been able to chance throttle settings on Chinese , Curtis Knock offs. I'm selling my 1313 if anyone's interested and buying a Chinese clone from EBay.
Someone mentioned reflashing my FSIP model. If anyone out there knows if it's possible and how to do it ,please pass it on. Also
I appreciate the 4 responses out of the 30 that had anything to do with programers.
Thanks

Xxxx-4401 is the highest the public will ever see (& that's if your lucky). Each of the lower numbers below 4401 have a reduced capability. All pretty useless in my opinion. A 4401 gets you best access in all the controllers, CC, Ezgo, and vanilla (not OEM specific) controllers. Curtis never intended for the end users (and even the dealers) to be using the 4401 & the unicorns 5501/6601. "We're too dumb to use those correctly"

You can't really blame FSIP. They are only following orders from Curtis. They are the only Curtis authorized controller repair facility, and they are not allowed to deviate from the rules. You were lucky to get a 3301 out of them actually, as most people only qualify for a 1101, or a 2201 for a service shop. You will be unable to find anything higher than a 4401, even from a chinese seller, but at least a 4401 will allow you to set most of the parameters that you are wanting to access.

I had been using 5501 programmers for 10 years before I upgraded to 5502 programmers a bit over 5 years ago. These were not handsets, they were programming stations supplied to my business on lease from Curtis. My contracts and NDA with Curtis expired in December of last year, so prior to that I bought my own 4402 programming station. After my contracts and NDA expired, I upgraded it myself to a 5502 and then a 6602 more recently.

As for doing a software update to your FSIP handset, I don't know if they use the same software as the Curtis handset. It may just be a Curtis handset with a FSIP label on it, who knows. As far as I have been able to determine, there are no higher level access softwares available for the handsets, beyond the 4401 OEM level. They were primarily intended for diagnostics and some minor parameter updates.

If you are serious about wanting to do more, I suggest you read the following thread...

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ontroller.html

There is information there that can help you to set up your own Curtis programming station. It is a long thread, and there is a lot of good information to bring you up to speed on how the various protocols work. The best information comes in near the end of course.
