1985 CLUB CAR, Jerky Acceleration
My 1985 Club Car runs good, have had it a good number of years (at least 10 years) but now when I depress the gas pedal I get JERKY forward or reverse motions. It is 36 volt electric and I have new batteries. Since it is getting old, I am thinking maybe the Speed Controller or one of the Solenoids are worn and I don't know how to test them. There are no physical breaks that I can see. I am replacing the headlights with LEDs, installing a new meter and a desulfater on my batteries.
I would really appreciate any help that I can get. I live on a farm and drive it on our very big 2 and 1/2 acre yard, and I need it since I cannot walk very well. I am NOT a golfer! Yes, I am a Newbie and this is my FIRST thread. |

Re: 1985 CLUB CAR, Jerky Acceleration
Welcome to BGW. What's a golfer?
85CC has 5 solenoids - jack a wheel off the ground and remove the seat. When you slowly push the go pedal down you should hear each of the solenoids click. |
