Can I put the gas engine and rear end from a 92 ezgo into a 94 electric ezgo?

Re: Engine and rear end swap
Yes
A friend of mine did a similar swap. Lots of fabrication and lots of time and money spent. |

Re: Engine and rear end swap
Thanks. Is it easier to modify 92 cart to accept the 96 body I have?

Re: Engine and rear end swap
OK, lets confirm what you have. Is the later one a 94 or 96, you state different years in two posts.
The earlier one is likely to be a Marathon model cart, built from 79 to 94, the later cart could possibly be a late built Marathon or Medalist model cart built from 94 to 95. if it is 96 onward, it would be a TXT. If both are Marathons, then a body swap would be your best option but if you have a Marathon and a Medalist, the chassis/frames are different so no body swap will be easy and an electric to gas conversion would take some serious thinking, If you have a Medalist and a TXT, then you are also good to go with a body swap. If you can supply pictures and or build codes and serial numbers we can help you decide what you have then we can advise accordingly. Someone will be along soon to confirm or not the info i have supplied. Hope this helps. |

Re: Engine and rear end swap
Ok let's see if I can do this correctly, the green cart is gas, the white cart is electric. I would like to put the white body on the green cart frame. I have the txt body that I want to put on the marathon frame.

Re: Engine and rear end swap
Ok, as i said, you will be doing a lot of work to achieve this as the bodys and frames are completely different. If it where me i would sell the marathon and find a medalist or txt gas scrapper and use the parts from that to do a simple bolt on conversion of your electric TXT to GAS TXT.
Could be done in a Day easily. |

Re: Engine and rear end swap
well......although the frames are different. seeing as how one is gas and one is electric....how the two bodies mount are the same.....doing a body swap between a TXT and a Marathon is EASY, actually they are P-N-P. Its the other part of your plan is the hard part, that is converting an electric framed cart to a gas.
