Default Trailer hitch help

Good morning, I just bought a 2003 TXT and would like to install a receiver hitch on it. Not sure what brand rear seat kit it on it and don't know where to look if it is marked or if it matters.

I have some pictures from under the rear step on my phone that I'll get on here ASAP.

I would think the hitch would connect to the step in some manner but I'm not even sure about that, i'd like to buy the correct one the first go-round.

Thanks as always, ivel

ivel.....the first question I would have before making any recommendations is how you are going to use is.....as in how much LOAD (the size/weight) of the trailer you plan pulling with your cart.

if you are talking about using a fairly light trailer (total weight of about 1000# or less) The set up Crash suggested would be great (you can find them on amazon)

if you need something heavier, I personally would have one that actually connected directly to the frame....even if I had to have it made. but that's me.

Really don't know what kind of weight I would be pulling, probably just moving a trailer from back yard to front yard to hook up to my truck. Don't even have a trailer yet. That will be in the next post. :D

This is what I got for mine. I feel better having the hitch bolted to the cart frame.

I made my own with some 1/4” aluminum I had. I mounted it to the frame and step and it really stiffened up the step up.

I hope i dont offend you , but what you have is actually much worse. and i'd hate to see you ruin the rear end of your cart and twist up your bottom rail. Think of it as trying to lift a object off a table with a 6 inch long pry-bar verse's lifting it with a 24 inch long pry-bar , thats what happening at your mounting point . .if your hauling anything heavy all with the hitch , adding a 1" x 3/16" flat strap support under the 2"box hitch at the back of the step would make it as strong as all of the other mounts out there .

I added a trailer hitch to my cart, the thread is here:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ater-cart.html

I'm 245 and I stood on the hitch ball and bounced up/down as hard as I could, no funny sounds or other issues. So I've been using it ever since. Biggest load I have is a Christmas float which sometimes has 14 people on it, so it weighs a bit, but it's on flat pavement too so that helps. no idea the tongue weight but it's certainly weighs more than a few pounds.

I added more square tube and took it back to the large, thick flat piece of metal that runs under the bag well. I didn't want to put a lot of trust in the rear seat foot rest, which a lot of receivers appear to do.
