Default EZGO TXT King Pin Tube Play?

Hey everyone. New to carts, so some advice needed. I recently got a 2004 TXT, noticed a lot of noise and sway from the front end. Jacked it up, noted lots of play in wheels, found king pin a bit loose. Took it apart and noted the pin is a bit wobbly thru the tube/bushing. How tight is that pin (inner diameter) supposed to be? I torqued the pin in the bracket but that seems not the way to stop wheel wobble if the ID if the tube is too large or worn.

Also, I replace the rear leaf springs with HD, and it rides better but it is still squirrelly especially in the front. I'm thinking new shocks/dampeners. Any aftermarket suggestions for stock lengths?

Thanks!
Bugs

They are supposed to be tight. Like "feeler gauge tight", surely can't slip a piece of paper in there.

Oh, no, the pin can rattle thru the center of that bushing. There is about 1+ mm of space. Looks like a replacement is in order. Thanks for your help!

On my 2003 Club Car DS I took the spindles to a machine shop with new pins and bushings.
They pressed the new bushings in and "reamed to fit" the pins for the new bushings.
There was zero play but the pin slid in the bushings perfectly with ease.
Cost was $50.

and considering that.....it would be worth the time to take apart the other one and replace both at the same time to make your front in like new.

The current bushing "tube" fits the spindle with little to no play. Is a new one supposed to be that tight as to require a press? Are all new bushings cut with that tight ID tolerance (or out of spec) that it requires a machine shop to fit the king pin??

Needs pressing AND reaming? The reaming thing seems a bit of a machining requirement for a shop, certainly not with a Harbor Freight press or bit.

When the new bushings are pressed they will shrink in the ID.
Since there are two and spaced apart by three or four inches
the ream process will true them with the new pin.
Don't pound on them as that will cause the pin to not go into the bushing.
A long shaft reamer is used to go through both bushings at the same time.
This will now be a perfect fit of the pin into both bushings.

Note I don't have knowledge on EZGO but on a Club Car this is the case.
They are probally near the same.

On my TXT cart, the bushing is a single cylinder that fits the length of the spindle. It slips right in. I dunno if it's supposed to do that. My experience is limited.
