2011 ezgo txt switch

Just bought a 2011 ezgo txt on a really good deal because person didn’t know what was wrong with it and turns out it was something that didn’t cost anything but time to fix. Question is on the dash there is a red switch but I don’t know what it does. The battery meter is the only thing that does not work so not sure if it’s something to do with that. Thanks. I know nothing about golf carts except what I’ve learned over the past 2 weeks.

My 'guess' is that this cart did not come with lights and when someone added them, they cut a switch into the right side of the dash panel for the lights. Std TXT is a three position Key Switch with third position for lights. It is hard to tell in the pic of the dash panel if the KS is labeled for lights, because it is a little blurry.

That idiot meter is connected directly to the battery, so if it is not working, it is either a bad connection, disconnected or failed. You can replace that idiot meter with a digital voltmeter from Scotty B at Carts Unlimited.
