Turn Signal Troubleshooting
Hi All !
I did search and was unable to find an answer, so here I be ! It could be with any style cart, but I just put it here as there was no general electrical area. I bought a Turn Signal Kit that is plug and play. It worked fine for years and now, it is not working correctly. So, Brake Lights work as they should. Double Element LEDs (Low is Running lights, High is Turn/Brake) Front Turn Lights are single element bulbs and not wired to come on with running lights, only as turn indicators. When I activate the turn signal lever (either left or right) the flashers clicks as normal (its an LED Flasher), the indicator light in the turn signal switch lights and goes out, but none of the lights flash (tail or front). When I step on the brake and move the lever to indicate a left turn, the left rear light goes out but does not come back on with the flash pattern, the right brake light is illuminated as it should be. The same holds true if I try to indicate a Right Turn. I took the turn signal lever apart and cleaned all the contacts and tested them at the connector before it goes to the individual lights and I am getting voltage at the corresponding colored wires for the individual lamps. So, I'm stumped, what am I missing ? is there a break in one of the wires ? Please let me know if you have ever run across this situation. Thanks ! Chucker |

Re: Turn Signal Troubleshooting
never worked on golf cart signals, but have a good understanding of auto stop/turn lights
1st if you have a hazard button make sure it's not hung up, work it in/out a few times 2 hot wires going in. flasher power and brake switch power. (a car would also have hazard power) brake power is obviously working, all brake power goes thru the turn switch and depending on the position of the switch, lights the brakes with pedal down. this also means your wires are good to the rear lights flasher power not so much. check for power out of the flasher, easy check is to bypass the flasher with a short jumper. led flashers have 3 wires: power in, flash out, ground. the ground is needed to flash/click, it could be grounding but no power out. while you have the jumper in check for flasher power into the turn switch. if you have power into the switch, the switch is bad also check to see the front lights aren't shorted. that could bedazzle the turn signals this is a basic stop/turn wiring diagram, the box in the middle of this diagram is the turn signal switch |

Re: Turn Signal Troubleshooting
If it was me I'd clean all the connections with contact cleaner. Maybe replace the flasher and check all the lights. Other than that there is not much you can do except replace the control arm. It's not like you will find replacement switches for it. You don't have to buy a entire light kit. Dave @Revolution can get you replacement parts depending on the manufacturer. But you have to call or email him and let him know what you need.

Re: Turn Signal Troubleshooting
I think your flasher has failed. Sounds like it isn’t transferring power through
