Default Battery/charging issues

Picked up an ezgo textron and fella said it was running 8 months ago. Trying to go to cheap route initially I was concerned about the charger. Found YouTube video on how to charge you 36 V golf cart with your conventional stand up 12 V Napa charger. Video said to charge two at a time 40 to 60 minutes and that could bring up your batteries enabling the power wise charger to recognize there was some voltage, Or at least some small amount of voltage. I did that and put fluid in every cell and lo and behold the charger is now charging. Put the fluid in their first of course.

Good start. How old are those batteries?

Default Re: Battery/charging issues

They ended up being a bit older than he stated. Played with them for a short while til I finally ended up replacing them Been running like a champ since then. I had been shoeing this guys horses for a couple of years and noticed the cart sitting in another barn for a year at least. If all goes according to plan, I find them like this, buy it on the cheap, swap batteries, maybe a new charger (ebay) as well, then send them down the road. I'll typically drive them for a few months then off they go. Been looking at another ez go that has been in her barn for years. She's being clingy and hasn't let me buy it yet.
