If it's a crack, yes it will work. If it's rusted 'till it broke, more material will have to be added to solid it up.

That's an easy fix.....if you have a nephew that can weld like I have!!!! Here's my frame with a "clean" crack on the front passenger side, along with the weld fix he did.

As you can see he reinforced it with metal patches. Now, cart frames are heat treated and hard as all get out. I did not re-heat treat the frame and it's been holding up very well for about a year now.

Do you have any pics before you painted the welds?

No. I didn't take those pics. My nephew that did the weld job on it took 'em.

Where is it cracked? If on the square tubing normally you would just take piece of square tubing with an inside diameter the same size of outside tubing (frame rail) being repaired, cut one side of “patch” away so it fits over cracked frame member and mig weld on.
Another medthod is if frame is completely cracked/ separated is to use square tubing with outside diameter the same as inside diameter of tubing, slide inside to join Brocken pieces and weld.
You are boxing in the frame, any welding, fab shop should be able to do.
Dave your a lucky guy to have a nephew that can fab/weld. Nice work.👍
