2004 TXT Rebuild/Upgrade
Thought I'd share my rusted 2004 resurrection with you guys.
Cart was bought wrecked on driver side, front end was smashed up. I bought a used 6" lift from craigslist and some wheels and went on to riding the neighborhood and the hills and trails around the house. Once I discovered the shocks were shot, and the steering rack was wore slap out, I decided to upgrade the front end. While at it, I decided that I should go through the whole cart. I stripped it down to the frame and began fixing/replacing parts. The battery tray was rusted in the usual spots, so some cutting and welding I had it beefed up and built better than factory. Cart had 1 year old Interstate batteries, so just gonna roll on them for a while. I did buy the SR48500 and FR switch and solenoid from Scotty, and made some 2AWG wires and put it all together. I ran a 36-12v reducer and a marine fuse block to the front of the cart to power radio and lights and other accessories. Running 2 LED Cubes from Rough Country mounted to bottom of clays basket for headlights, and some LED strips on rear seat kit for tail lights. I'm also running a 6" Rigid E-series driving light in the place where EZGO logo used to be - it's insanely bright and running on 36V!! New brake pads/drums/cables made the brakes top notch again, and I did rear axle bearings while I was in there, and changed fluid in rear end to Royal Purple motor oil. I bought the RHOX BMF lift kit for the TXT and bolted that sucker in - man it's well built. New tires on my old wheels and she was rolling again - but wheels rubbed the A-arms...so a quick trip to a friend's machine shop and he whipped out some spacers for me, problem solved. I got a used body from a local shop for free, sanded and cleaned and painted satin black and began putting the cart back together. Recovered old seats, and some paint and some cleaning here and there and the old 2004 is in top form. Top speed is only 14, but I ordered a PQ Cobra motor to run 36V now and then 48V later when I do batteries. All in all, I'm happy other than speed - and that will change soon! |

A really nice job !!! Please "bear"  with one question ...In the pic of the batteries, there appears to be some "extra" cables hooked to the batteries at the drivers side of the cart...... whats up with 'dat ?? Just curious... |

Not sure on the extra wires...just a random pic with lots going on!
Anyway, finally got the rear end sorted out and got my new wheels/tires on. 25" GTW Barrage on 12" Tremor wheels and removed the spacers I had (they're still on in this pic though). Still running 36V and hitting 6+ on flat roads...29.7 on a slight downhill! I also got the new rocker pieces and stainless sills installed again. |

Did you have to do anything to get that 2014+ body kit on your cart? I read that on the back sometimes you have to deal with a 1 1/2" lift for the back seat kit. But, not on the Madjax 150 seat kit. I haven't put my body kit on. It is the OEM replacement from Madjax (Inferno Red Metallic). |

Got the 1" blocks installed in the rear. They really leveled it out well! Also got the horn installed finally, little sucker is LOUD!
