92 G8E 36V attempts to move in reverse but doesnt

The cart does the exact same thing it did before. No reverse. The only difference is that the cart goes forward when the lever is in the R position.

So the switch just operated backward from the original wiring but no difference in the directions it’s able to go.

I swapped the other two wires on the switch with the same result, no reverse, just a backwards switch.

Disconnect the 2 wires at the F&R that activate the reverse buzzer, then try again.

No joy. The buzzer doesn’t work but I have voltage coming through that microswitch and voltage changes between the pins as designed when the gears are changed by the F&R switch.

I was thinking that maybe the 1/2 speed reverse circuit in the controller had a fault that was possibly causing it. Well, was worth a shot. Have you tested the diodes (2 little black boxes in the harness next to the controller)? Try swapping their locations.

I just put 12v direct to the motor, unadvisedly with the wheels on the ground. She rolls in reverse without issue. I’ve got a power delivery problem in reverse only. I swapped the diodes and replaced the 10 amp fuse and no change.

If I take the F&R switch apart, what am I looking for? Is there any need for that since we determined it will make the cart go forward with both sets of internal contacts?
