3 phase is so much more efficient and there are three conductors. What's their size?

Yeah, and here's a potential problem. Unless those motor wires are 2 gauge as well, they become a bottleneck, and changing the battery cables to 2 gauge won't do a darned thing to deliver more amps to the motor, because it can't.
E=I*R.

Electrical engineers, chime in.

Ployphase AC and DC are just a little more complicated.

A pair of 2 AWG conductors "maxed out" on pulsed DC, does a tad less work than three 2 AWG conductors at three phase.

Remember who fed the Worlds Fair that killed DC and gave us AC. The dude who developed AC and poly-phase AC.

BUT you're right. You can't change the cable if you can't change the cable.

I’m not home to check but I know they are much thicker than the stock 12v battery wires. They aren’t the first bottle neck in the electrical system. They could become the last bottleneck after all of The other wires are upgraded.

Still - given the performance Bob and others squeeze out of the stock controller and motor I don’t think it’s a big problem overall.

Sorry, but I was asking about the 48 to 72 volt three phase AC motor cables. They can - in no way - be confused with 12 volt DC battery cables?

Oh, yeah, I forgot it's AC.

So bottom line, for the $X to buy the new cabling, is there any relevant gain to be had on an RXV or is it just pretty new cable with exciting colors?
