G2 Forward Reverse Switch

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a later model f/r switch vs. the original G2 switch. Big difference in price.

Don't use the G14/G16 switch, it fails more often than what you have. G19 and newer yamahas use a completely different system, and their switches won't work. I actually suggest converting to a HD switch from a TXT..

Thanks for the reply. I'm new to the golf cart world. Was given the g2 by my father in law. Said it was running and started smoking at the f/r switch then stopped. I was assuming bad switch, any thoughts.

Or you could go with the switching contactors from ScottyB (www.cartsunlimited.net). It costs nearly the same as the HD Ezgo F&r, and no fabrication. This would convert your system to a toggle switch to select direction, and it's more than just a toggle switch (there are no standard toggle switches that can handle this task alone)

Definitely sounds like failed f&r.

Thanks cgtech!! Is there a way to bypass the f/r switch temperally and just have forward?
