Re: 1999 DCS issues
Have you checked your F&R Micro switches on the back side of the handle?

Re: 1999 DCS issues
The DCS controller has 2 sides, forward and reverse. Each side is a separate controller. Typically forward fails first because it is used much more than reverse and the control defaults to to the reverse side.
Swap the F1 and F2 wires on the controller to have forward with tho reverse until a replacement controller can be secured. |

Re: 1999 DCS issues
The micro switches check good. There is 36.2V on the green wire at the controller when the throttle is pushed no matter in forward or reverse

Re: 1999 DCS issues
Sounds like a stuck reverse micro switch to me. Unplug the reverse micro switch (passengers side) and see if it goes forward with it unplugged.

Re: 1999 DCS issues
FWIW:
The two microswitches on the F/R assemble are "Run" and "Reverse" When F is selected, only the Run switch contacts are closed. When R is selected, the contacts of both microswitches are closed. In other words, Forward is the default direction for the DCS controller and to get it to go into the reverse mode, battery pack voltage has to be applied to Pin-4. Therefore, if it only goes backwards with F/R in either F or R, either Pin-4 has pack voltage on it all the time or the controller is bad. |

Re: 1999 DCS issues
I check the micro switches again and both check good. Swapped F1 and F2 as Scotty said and have forward all the time. have ordered a new controller from Scotty.

Re: 1999 DCS issues
Like Johnnie said, somehow you're getting voltage on pin 4 causing the controller you go into reverse. Did you try unplugging the reverse micro switch to see if that would interrupt the voltage going to pin 4?

Re: 1999 DCS issues
Yes,With reverse micro unplugged the cart still ran in reverse. Read Scottys post above and that seems to be what is happening. When I switched the F1 and F2 wires I had ONLY forward.
