add 1 12V for 48V total?
Another battery question...due to space in adding 2 batteries...is it feasible to add 1 12V to reach 48V upgrade from existing 36V? This is a series motor if
it matters. |

You will have to upgrade the controller, solenoid, cables, and charger (if you haven’t already.)

Re: add 1 12V for 48V total?
And the 12v would be a different Amp Hour capacity than the other batteries, which will cause balance issues (voltage variations amongst the batteries when charging and discharging). You can get 48v by adding a 12v battery to a 36v pack, but you will end up damaging all the batteries. So, unless you don't care about the life of the batteries, you shouldn't do it.
