Re: 36v ez go with pds won’t move in forward or reverse
Personally, I'd go with a XCT48400-PDS controller and a 48V MZJ400 solenoid first and run the stock PDS motor for now. (Unless they have already been upgraded, the ten high current cables need to be replace with 4Ga or thicker)
That will give the option of going to either 42V (7 x 6V) or 48V (6 x 8V) the next time batteries are replaced with only the additional need of purchasing an appropriate voltage battery charge for the upgrade. (The 48V MZJ400 works at 36V, 42V and 48V as does the XCT controller) The stock motor gain about 17% in torque and speed at42V and about 33% at 48V, plus runs cooler. If the max speed is too high, it can be limited to a lower speed by setting the max motor RPM in the controller. If more torque is needed after the battery pack voltage is increased, then replace the motor. |

Johnnieb, you’ve been a ton of help. I appreciate all the advice. I’m gonna take the advice on the controller and solenoid and see how it works for me. Thanks for everything.
