Default 1992 G9 Soleniod?

I have a 1992 G9 Gas and it wouldn't turn over. Bypassed the soleniod and would start! Replaced the soleniod with a 14 volt E-Z-Go gas soleniod, (Only one I could find, Yamaha parts scarce is this area!) Does anyone think this will hurt anything thing or mess up the battery or generator? I could order and replace it, the yamaha brand is $60 and I paid twenty five for this one.

If it is rated for continuous duty should be fine.

Yup DOOMsman is right. As long as it is a continuous duty solenoid you should be fine. It should work fine.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't alot of soleniods rated for a "range", for lack of a better term, of voltages.

Thanks, for the help! How do I check for continuous duty? Is it on the part or what? I checked the part and it is rated at 14 volts, apparently the E-Z-Go's have gone to this soleniod over the 12 volt version. I could have bought the 12 volt, but it cost more and its just a soleniod anyway.

If I remember right, you will need the starter solenoid for the BB.
