1984 club car power loss

OK guys here i am again with the next problem.
my gas cart runs well but when it gets hot i experience, a loss of power and get a back pressure sucking sound from the exhaust???? (sounds like sucking through a straw)
carb is clean, fuel pump works great, compression is good.
any help is always appreciated

It sounds as though something may be locking up if only happens when hot. How long does it take before it runs normally again ? Have you checked / changed the oil recently, has the cart been "modded" for higher speed ?

it takes as long as it does to cool down - depends on outside temp.
have not changed oil lately - it looks ok and level is good
the cart has the speed limiter removed - it does not matter how fast i run it though, it just starts to die - slow down and almost stop when hot
weird thing is that when i run it on jack stands it can get hot and continue to run, seems like when hot and under load that the problem occurs

i might suggest drianing the axle fluid and the trans fluid one at a time and smelling each for nasty stuff, of debris. or if there even any in each. bearings could be locking up and bogging down on engine with load, but not load no real issues. plus this would be cheap insurance to at least have new fluid in the trans and the gear box. 24 oz per case if i rember right.

Check for brake's dragging, the hotter they get the more they drag !
Since you are not braking while up on stands , could be the difference ...etc.

Check for blockage in the tailpipe ie mud wasps ???

I checked all rear axle fluids and it looks good - no junk in it and no stinky smell.
i checked brakes and they are nice and free.
i removed exhaust and check for blockage with air compressor and it too seems good.
what parts are inside the differential/rear axle case than can wear out/cause dragging.. should i just remove it and pull it apart to see whats up or does anyone have any other suggestions.
I ran the engine again on the axle stands and it is solid - ran it for 25 minutes and not issues at all.
not sure what to do - seriously boggled here.

The wheezing, sucking through a staw sound is strangesound from the exhaust is strange; maybe a by-product of being put under extreme load from somewhere else? Like possibly synchronizer clutch inside the transaxle is worn out and fighting itself as the trans unit warms up under load. Check out the pics... as the clutch wears the X dimension gets smaller and eventually will close and be metal on metal. dunno, just a thought...

i am almost at my end with this thing - my next thought was to pull apart the rear end and see what up in there.

footy if you take it apart, take your time, and if you can take pictures, in case you have a memopry loss! also take it a part and lay it down in a way you know it can be put back together. time paitance and good luck! plus we like pics here too! :)
