Re: train horns
The one's I've got sound great and are super LOUD!!! I've been known to set them off while driving by pedestrians . The only trouble I've had with mine is the pressure control switch, I am on my second one and it is out again.
This is the set I have, looks like they are $350 plus shipping: http://www.hornblasters.com/products...train-horn-kit |

Re: train horns
Those are similar to what my nephew has but his are brass and different size horns. Pump is larger too.

Re: train horns
I would love to have a real set from a train but they are $1000+. Haven't ever been able to find a good used set for a decent price either.

Re: train horns
I do that to my wife all the time. Looks like she would get used to it by now. I don't have train horns, but I added two more from an old Cadillac for when I need to pepper down on someone that pulls out in front of me while I'm pulling the 5er (and especially when pulling the 5er AND the Jeep).

Re: train horns
You guys know all the different train lines have their own ""chimes"".
I would love to have a set of Burlington Northern horns. |

Re: train horns
No they are all tuned different line to line but all the same on a line, kind of a signature.
Liston close next time near a city with different lines. |
