Same cart different approach
My engine upgrade is going to be a little more expensive then I was expecting, and after looking over my old engine I think I only need 3 things to get it running.
1. Carburator 2. Solenoid 3. Air filter I'm looking for used parts to save a little cash, so if you have any or know of anyone who does please let me know. I have looked at the for sale threads and sent some messages. I also inspected my clutches and they literally look new. I'm pretty sure this was a parts cart and didn't get driven much. First I plan to atleast get it running, paint, rear seat, lift and tires, then big block Thanks for the help |

Re: Same cart different approach
Do you have the carb or is it missing?
Usually just give them a good soak in carb cleaner and reassemble. Air filter or air box assy? if filter bite the bullet and buy a new one. same with the solenoid, is it missing? If not have you tested it? Trying to help save some cash. Need more info. |

Re: Same cart different approach
Carb and solenoid are missing, and weren't there when I bought the cart. I do plan on buying a new air filter. I checked with cpp and I can get a new carb for $100, not bad. They want $53 for the solenoid, seems a bit steep, could I just use an automotive solenoid?

Re: Same cart different approach
no no no no!
Please spend the money on the proper solenoid, Automotive solenoids are for short, starting engine design and will not hold up under a carts continous duty application. The cart solenoids are designed to stay energized all day long and larger to disapate the heat. Yes, you will spend less for one but you will replace them more often and it will be a constant thorn in your $%@. |

Re: Same cart different approach
I will definately spend the money on a cart solenoid. I called my local cart dealer today to get a price on a carburetor, they wanted $253.00. I went to one of our sponsors sites and found the carb, solenoid, airfilter, starter belt, fuel filter, airbox clips, and spark plug for $210.00 shipped Our sponsors prices rock
