Default testing oil injection

I have a 1986? G1 Yamaha 2 stroke golf cart.
Is there an easy way to test the oil injection system?
It loses power when it gets hot & is then hard to start.
Just repaired the fuel supply as is was not getting enough gas.
Now the gas flow is good but I was wondering about the oil injection system.
I have not been able to thoroughly test it since I fixed the gas supply.
thanks

Welcome, the easiest way is to mix the gas at 50/1 for insurance and use the cart. Watch to see if it uses oil out of the tank.
You may want to check compression when the engine is hot.

115 lbs is good. Read a post once that a member put a clear tube from the pump to the carb to watch the oil I recommend, "bleed the oil pump" (take off the plastic cover and loosen the screw and wait for the oil to seep out, then retighten the screw. Take the hose off the "jet sensor" connection at the muffler and "bolw into it , then crimp off the hose with some visegrips. At the "CDI" to wire harness conection, unplug the black/white wire, so the engine will idle, turn the throttle stop screw up so you get a higher rpm. Now watch the oil tube for oil (may want a oil squirt can to shoot some oil in the carb while dooing this), you will see a "pin head of oil comeing out of the tube (this may take minutes!) Hope this helped. Good luck Dave

I've never seen an oil pump die, leak yes, stop pumping no. Checking the pulser tube in the exhaust is a good idea, just becare to not break it off in the muffler if you plan to clean it. It is a very small amout tht comes out of there, you can spit more than what comes out. If it was not getting enough oil, the motor would lock up. You need to check to see if the motor gets hard to turn over by hand when it gets hot, that will give you your answer.
