May I know why you want to know the year model? To buy parts, the model year is irrelevant. All G1s are 2 cycles. All G1s use twin solenoids. All G1s use similar carbs. All G1s use similar starter generators, etc etc. Carb joint could be a little different in other year models but you can always adapt.

Or you want to know for the purpose of pricing if you decide to sell? That is a completely different story.

He stated in his very first post that he needs to rebuild the top end, and the rebuild kits for '82 are different from all other models. Probably hard to adapt a rebuild kit if you order the wrong one!

Come on Art! We talked about this in the last thread. I would say that 95% of us dont know what you know about what parts you can cross to fit what carts.
The best way for the general public to get the correct parts is to know the year, model, and make of our carts.

The model year is relevant to 95% of this community. I respect your knowlege, but the rest of us need to do things the conventional way.

So, when someone asks "help me identify my year, make, or model". Lets simply help them do that
