Default G9 clutch movement... is it right?

I just bought a 93' G9 and when cleaning up the engine area I notiched the outside of the clutch (or I believe it's the clutch) moves about 3/4". I'm not sure if it is supoosed to do this or not. The pictures show it pulled out then pushed in. You can tell byt the room near the outside of the belt. Hoping it is suposed to move but wouldnt be suprised if not.

That's normal. clutch should move freely, no spring. Your belt may be getting a little worn allowing for more movement.

They move in with rpm to run the belt up to the top, and give high gear, that is how CVT work. The rear clutch does the opposite. Some clutches have a spring in them to hold them out at stop/idle like a sled but these don't. If you lube the clutch and its clean it will fall out from the belt at rest. If it drags at idle the cart wants to move usually the clutch is dirty or needs a shot of grease. A new belt will be sticky and do that for a bit. IF belt is 1" wide its worn out.
