'97 Carryall Parking Brake Issue
I just picked up a lifted (Z lift) 1997 Carryall Turf 1. The PO did the lift and everything looks/feels right except he never re-hooked up the parking brake. He mentioned that the cable was too short once he installed the lift. Is there any remedy for this? He cranked up the brakes on the rear so they 'drag' but I certainly don't want that as its robbing power and quite frankly, doesn't really do the job of holding the cart in place when parked. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: '97 Carryall Parking Brake Issue
The first thing I would look for is if the PO left the cable hangers in place, (Wire cable hangers at the front of the rear leaf spring)
If they are still there, remove the hangers and pitch 'em! Next, would be to loosen the All Thread cable adjustment so you have almost half brake pedal travel. (underneath the cart, center) If your hill brake still doesn't work, check this thread out... (It's for a CC electric, but, it's generally the same!) http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ill-brake.html |
