Clutch side Cylinder seized but cart still runs
Hi All,
New to the forum and wondered if anyone has experienced what I have. I have a 2001 295cc ez go that runs and moves down the road at 13mph on gps but lacks low end torque. Did a compression check and found 175 and Zero. Checked and adjusted the valves to .004 when cold then did another compression check. Clutch side is at Zero compression, the other side is at 175. I rolled the engine over by hand while placing a dowel rod into each cylinder. The clutch side never moves but the cart still runs and you cant hear loose parts rolling around in bottom end. Anyone think the engine can be saved with a seized piston? Do I need to tear down to get a better idea? Thanks in advance Barry |

Re: Clutch side Cylinder seized but cart still runs
i just finished overhaul same 295 with identical problem, my piston was in cylinder, rod broken, skirt broken, cap shattered. I took apart, cylinder OK, had to get alum off of rod journal, polished it and now completely rebuilt and runs great. So it can be done . i wouldn't run it any more, until you take apart.
