Default Can't access the Access Panel - Rivet Issues

I'm taking apart my G29 for Rear HD Springs, Lift, Rear Seat install, etc...I cannot get these stupid rivets out of access panel or bagwell. I ordered this rivet puller kit on amazon (see attached pic) and I'm still having issues. Even when I get a good grip under the bagwells christmas tree rivets the head of the rivet will break off leaving the rest of the tree stuck. See attached pic.

And forget about the 2 christmas tree rivets in the access panel. For some reason these 2 rivets are recessed and I cant get any of my tools underneath the head to attempt to pullout.

Is there a certain tool or technique I dont know about? Besides getting really frustrated, I am also scratching all of my plastic up. It cant be this hard.

Mine are a PITA as well. I use a flathead screwdriver, put it under the head of the inserted piece and pry it up/sideways. Worse case scenario, drill them out and buy new ones.

We've got a bunch of G22's & G29's in our rental fleet and this pretty much sums up how we get them out. But we do stock a bunch of replacement pins "just in case".

Ok, well it makes me feel a little better that this is the norm but you would think they would come up with a better system then this.

There are better rivets out there but the way they're used on golf carts, pretty much as body parts, they aren't really meant to be too user friendly. New they work as designed but as they age that userability goes out the window!

Why don't you just pull up on the whole panel? If the plastic rivet breaks off just replace it.

Yamaha's never used "Christmas tree" rivets. Some "hack" did that! Early models used screws, later models used a reusable push rivet that you can pull out the center pin with a set of dike style plier's.

I was on my phone and didn't even notice they weren't the factory ones till you said that! Yeah, those aren't factory. The factory ones still suck, though.
