Default I bit off more than I can chew!!!

I finally took on a task that I'm not up to. I know very little about electric carts, and I took on the task up upgrading an early 1990s Yamaha 36V series, resistor cart to a 48V regen controller cart.

I am getting the motor and controller from D&D. According to them, it will be easier to wire all this together and the results will be greater.

ANY information, schematics, etc... is appreciated.

We're talking about a Yamaha G8, not a Willys pickup.

Where are your progress pics anyway?

I've at least got the motor off the G8.

Vic from D&D said that I'd be better off and it would be easier to rewire that way. Me knowing what I do (or don't), I went for it.

PS: Good to see you here again, Nate.

Did you buy your parts yet?

Series is much easier to wire and less chance of frying something.

I heard someone needed help and popped in for a visit!

OK I covered the topic now point me to the pictures of wheelchairman's 51 willys!

The parts are on the way.

I got the D&D ES6551 motor and Alltrax DCX500 controller. I also got a FP-6 pot box foot pedal.

Motor and controller are here, as well as the foot pedal pot box. I will get two more batteries tomorrow and hopefully be able to start ripping out Yamaha wiring. And then be here trying to figure out how to put it back.

I was told that all I would need for the FNR switch is a toggle. Could I just get a Club Car or E-Z-GO FNR switch? OEM Yamaha switches have a plug for their wiring only, so I couldn't use one of those since I am not using their wiring.
