Default How to soften ride lifted G29

Looking to see if anyone has some knowledge of getting a better ride for a lifted cart. I purchased a 2014 Yamaha G29 with a RHOX 6” lift on 23” tires and 14” wheels. Being in Texas we have some pretty hard ground on the course which makes for a bumpy ride. Wondering if anyone has had luck with replacing shocks or something that could allow for some softening of the suspension?

Thanks in advance everyone. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

23" tires on 10 inch rims would be my first change. Tire sidewalls are the primary "suspension" on a light vehicle.

This may be the wat to go. I have the 6” rhox lift now but this seems like a much better option. Do you have experience with both? Trying to gauge how much of a difference this suspension will make.

I've never used a Rhox lift, but I've used many like it. The standard lifts don't do any justice to the ride quality of the golf carts, all they do is raise it up in the air. I've used the Jakes LT kits several times. The long travel kit will transform the handling of your cart. It will be a night and day difference. Money well spent IMO.

Ive been told the long travel can actually be too soft causing a fair amount of roll. have you experienced any of that?

What kind of air pressure are you running in the tires? I doubt you need more than around 8-9psi. Any higher than that and its gonna ride hard

A long travel suspension will be softer and have more travel than a stock setup. Yes, there will be "some" roll, but I have not found any of the carts I've installed them on to be too soft or too much roll. I suppose if you use the coil over shocks on the lowest preload setting it might be too soft. I typically set the preload on the stiff side and test it out.
