2000 Club Car DS - Steering Noise

Good evening all,
I have a 2000 Club Car DS that seems to have some noise in the steering. When you turn the wheel it's fine but once you get it turned all the way to the right and make some weird noise and then when you turn it all the way to the left it seems like it makes a weird noise as well. It's almost like a jumping sound of that makes sense? I was thinking about buying a new rack and pinion but figured I would come here first before just buying something.

I’ve never heard the steering make noise except for a popping sound when you turn the wheel. Or clunking from worn tie rod or drag link ends. Does it only happen when you drive? I’d suspect the tires are rubbing when it’s turned all the way.

this is obviously going to be something that you're going to have to diagnose yourself - have someone steer it back and forth (either on pavement, or on jack stands) while you look underneath to find where the noise is coming from.

people on the internet can't diagnose your cart from the little info you provided. If you figure out what part it is, we can probably be of assistance if you show us a picture or provide a description of the part making the noise.



I will say that on a DS I used to have it would make a clunking noise when turned all the way either direction because the rubber bushings were wore on the front end. might be somethign to check first.
