Smile output of SG?

I've done a search for the output of the SG, and couldn't convincingly come up with a correct answer because these were from later models then mine. I'm assuming it can put out about 23amps, as I've read but, I'm not sure if this is correct? These carts are like owning a boat, checked prices on a new one, just for the heck of it, about $400, what did I get myself into??
Although I did get this thing running, she spits and sputters, and knocks some, so all the information you guys have given me will certainly pay off, I'm thinking. I don't know how long she'll run but what the heck, I can't help myself, I'm smitten by the bug.

23 amps is about right. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Club-...805?hash=item3 or you might just want to change the brushes and clean the commutator. They don't go bad very often.

Wow I've been looking in the wrong places! The SG does work, puts out 14.5 Volts, but I'd better check it out, because of it's age (1986). Thanks, didn't think to look on ebay

NP. Set of brushes will run you under $10 if you look around. If you are careful you can pull out the rearmost brush and check it for wear, that will give you an indication of how the others are doing.
