Gas ds clutch jerkiness
Are there smoother engaging clutches? Mine seems to delay engagement sometimes and jerk into gear. Or is it supposed to feel that way?
I just don't want to launch any unsuspecting children off the rear seat. |

Re: Gas ds clutch jerkiness
it could be the clutch is going bad or it could be just a worn belt.........try replacing the belt it may just go away and if not it may be time to rebuild clutch if its rebuildable................................

Re: Gas ds clutch jerkiness
The belt appears to be new. I've seen the clutch rebuild kits as well.
Is there an upgrade for the clutch? I've seen the add-ons that will allow the engine to idle, are those worthwhile? |

Before you go down that road, are you sure that your throttle linkage is correctly set ? You wouldn't be the first CC owner to have a set up that is late in supplying voltage to the start circuit which in turn gives an open throttle condition that causes the cart to "launch" off the line like a dragster. Set your cart in maintenance mode and double check the transition of the clutches. If you see a sudden snap in the action as opposed to a smooth transition then yes, a clutch replacement or rebuild may be required but I'd be looking at the position of the throttle /micro first. If the cable is maladjusted you might be at an open wide situation before the ignition kicks in which would give the symptoms you describe. |

Re: Gas ds clutch jerkiness
The engine rpms do increase but no engagement. I'll check the clutch movement and verify that it's moving.
