Is there any way to identify jakes or allsport lifts from the cheap chinese lifts

I guess I'm not sure what you are asking? Are you asking about how to ID them when they are listed for sale on a website or how to ID them if they are on a cart already?

Looking at them in pictures the solid a-arm All Sports lifts and the off brand lifts certainly do look the same. I'd imagine that if you held one in your hands and got to take a good look at them you would start to notice differnces but it's hard to tell in the pictures for sure.

Most of the time if they are American made lifts they will say so in the ad. If they don't say, just assume it's Chinese.

yes.. without knowing the manufacture would there be a way to tell by looking at it... if a used drop axle was a jakes, allsport or cheap chinese.. because a bought used 5" drop axle lift and 3 months after installing the holes at each end of the drop axle became elongated,, i think it was a cheap chinese lift and i don't want make the same mistake... i know buying new from jakes or allsport would solve my problem.. but i was laid off and money is very tight !!
