Default Drive Clutch Worn??

I have a 2000 ez go, fresh rebuild on the 295 Robins and Fresh belt. It runs great EXCEPT on a long very steep incline. It will slow down and will actually come to a stop, the motor will be turning and I can see the belt is slipping on the Drive clutch. (Have the seat off, sitting on a make shift board)
Is there a way to give it more SQUEEZE? OR Scuff the sides of the Belt?
Or are the faces of the clutch worn?
I don't feel any grooves worn into the faces of the drive clutch.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just an fyi, I have tried to scuff the sides of a belt and it last less time then it took me to get the belt back on. The friction just wore it right back to smooth. Sounds to me like maybe you need a shorter belt, which will help your torque and it will take off quicker. If the spring in the drive clutch is getting weak, other then taking it apart and putting a shim in it I would think you almost have to replace it. Just my 2 cents from what dealings I have had with belts and clutches. Good luck!

Check the wear buttons and spring tension on the secondary
it sounds as if it is not backshifting.
Did you check the center to center before and after the rebuild?

@ DOOmsman- The secondary clutch has new ramps, buttons and modified spring, the belt is sitting at the very top, It is a Gates 6021 belt 1-3/16 wide by 41-3/4 long, there is about 1/8 inch space between primary clutch and belt to close up on. when I noticed it spinning the motor is actually turning the clutch and slipping on the belt, I was thinking maybe a modified spring on the clutch side????? How does that sound?
