Re: Curtis 1268 - HPD Fault
HPD is High Pedal Disable. If you put the throttle to full throttle and turn the key on HPD shuts the controller down so the golf Cart doesn’t shoot forward into something. I think your problem with the new Curtis 1268 controller is that you have the wrong throttle setting in the 1268 for the throttle in your golf cart. One throttle puts out 0 volts at no throttle and 5 volts at full throttle. The other throttle type puts out 5 volts at no throttle and 0 volts at full throttle. I think the throttle setting in the 1268 is set for 0 voltage at no throttle and 5 volts at full throttle, but the throttle component in your golf cart puts out 5 volts at no throttle so as soon as you turn the key on the 1268 sees 5 volts ( full throttle) and the HPD kicks in and shuts the controller down to prevent an accident. Then it set the code HPD in the trouble codes. Check your throttle out and the throttle setting in the 1268.

Re: Curtis 1268 - HPD Fault
This issue was resolved 6 years ago and it was not a throttle configuration.
The problem is a physical difference in the pin-out between IQ and Excel controllers throttle return (negative) pin/connection and how it is used in the Excel cart harness. |
