I need an outdoor storage solution
I am looking for ideas on how to protect my cart outdoors.
I don’t have an indoor space to store my new to me RXV. My community has rules and I cannot erect another permanent shed. I was thinking of a loophole and building a lean-to off my shed or the rear of the house. It would look ugly off my rear but no one but deer and bears go back there. Off my shed I have a fair amount of work as I’ll have to clear a tree stump and level the ground as well as remove another tree and stump for path clearance. Right now, I have it parked behind my house covered and it’s easy to get in and out from there. I came across this portable shed (photo attached) from Harbor Frieght. $159. Looks cheap and maybe will last a winter or two. But who knows. Anyone with experience with it? Anyone that stores outside what are you using? |

I had one of those, I kept my cart in it in the winter and a bunch of garage overflow junk! it lasted for several years.

Re: I need an outdoor storage solution
I actually built a lean too onto my shed. Kind of like a garage to the shed. The code police have gotten out of line. We are no longer Free. Every year they pass new laws. Who going to stop them...

Re: I need an outdoor storage solution
I had a "throw over the top" cover like you show in pics 2 & 3. It was cheap (cart accessories brand I think). I liked it pretty well. The desert sun & monsoon winds got the best of it after a few years tho. Real strong winds could strip it off the cart tho. I got it on sale for less than $100, and would buy it again if I were to buy another (I only bought it because price was cheap, and I didn't want a wet seat when I was using it as daily ride to work). It had elastic "bungie cord" at the bottom to secure it. It eventually ripped at the corners of my roof. It worked pretty good on my lifted cart, but would not have worked on a cart with rear seat kit on the back. Funny part is, it still keeps my seat dry now, I just throw it over the seat and add weight to hold it there. (It no longer keeps my windows dry anymore, lol)
