Default Precedent Front Bench Seat

I have a 2007 Precedent and am looking for advice on mounting the front bench seat that covers the batteries. The stock setup has two "clips" that you insert into the slots on the battery bucket while holding the seat upright, then rotate the seat down into position. One of my slots on the battery bucket is broken. The plastic part of the slot, not the metal clip part. So now I'm trying to figure out how to manufacture a new way to mount the seat, but still be able to just pivot it on its front edge so I can access the run/tow switch and the batteries. My initial thought is to mount a hinge to the seat that will have a "pin" that will somehow attach to a receiver on the bucket, but wanted to see if anyone has encountered this before and how they fixed it before I try to invent the wheel.

It's a design flaw as far as I'm concerned. It's very rare that I see a Precedent that has NOT broken out at least one of those hinge pockets. If you're content with bolting something to the body, maybe something like these hinges that were used on some of the Chinese clone carts.

I'm completely fine with bolting to the body. Was actually considering something just like that, but adding a pin to it so it would just slide down into the body side.

That metal plate was stock on my '14 so I guess they realized there was an issue and that is what they did to fix it.
